Tomac Launches U.S. Dealer Program

LINCOLN, NE (BRAIN)Tomac Mountain Bikes has launched a U.S. dealer program. Phil Doerflein, a bike industry veteran of 20 years, and a former IBD dealer from the Pacific Northwest, has been hired to manage U.S. sales for Tomac. The response to the new line of Tomac bikes has been phenomenal, said Tomac's owner Joel Smith. Weve expanded the models, introducing three new bikes this year, and now have a line that will be very attractive for dealers. The Tomac brand is the namesake of racing legend John Tomac and was relaunched in 2006 by former Manitou brand manager Joel Smith. The focus is on high-end mountain bikes for discerning riders. Tomac bikes resonate with top tier mountain bikers, and shops who want to service these riders, Doerflein said. The brand is once again situated at the high end and can really help cutting edge shops remain the choice for discriminating buyers.

The Ural story begins in 1939, during the USSRs pre-World War II planning. Despite the Molotov/von Ribbentrop Pact, the Soviet Union knew it would soon be going to war against Adolf Hitler, the ruthless dictator of the German Third Reich. Joseph Stalin ordered the military to prepare all areas of operation, including the ground forces that would defend the Russian motherland against invading German Panzers, ground troops, and Special Forces. Having seen the effects of the Blitzkrieg against the Polish Army, mobilisation was of paramount importance to the USSR.

A meeting was held at the USSR Defence Ministry to discuss what motorcycle model was most suitable for the Red Army. The Army had wanted to modernise its equipment after termination of the military conflict with Finland, as the motorcycles it had been using had not worked satisfactorily.

Teacher arrested on sex charges

A Buhler High School debate teacher and coach was arrested Tuesday on charges that he had a sexual relationship with a foreign-exchange student in August 2007.

Richard Young, 68, is scheduled to make a first appearance today in Reno County District Court on three counts of taking indecent liberties with a child and one count of indecent solicitation of a child. His bond was set at $75,000.

Reno County Sheriff Randy Henderson said Young faces a sentence of 31 to 68 months in prison if convicted.

Buhler superintendent David Brax said Young was suspended with pay Nov. 1 when school officials learned about the investigation.

Brax said Young taught at Buhler High School for four years after working in Little River and Hutchinson schools.

Few people apparently knew much about what was happening at 11 Coach Lane in Barnstable until Ann Gryboski shot and killed Lancaster on Easter Sunday. She told police she killed him as he came at her when she attempted to break up a fight between him and their 25-year-old son, Christopher.

Gryboski, a doctor in South Yarmouth, also told police that Lancaster had physically and mentally abused her and their two sons for years... Read the rest of this Globe story here. Leave a comment _____________________________

OBT is a hotbed of tragedy, killings

For six grim miles, murder follows Orange Blossom Trail.

Twenty of the Orlando area's 91 murder victims so far this year were slain along a stretch of road that starts in the hidden neighborhoods near the Florida Mall and ends amid ragged bungalows in sight of downtown's high-rise condos.

Those deaths make the Trail the Orlando area's most dangerous corridor during a time of unprecedented bloodshed. From 2004 to 2006, the numbers of slayings in unincorporated Orange County and the city of Orlando more than doubled, from 55 to 113.

However, I was born in a Catholic family and baptized as well. But I do not know what my beliefs are yet. I belive and I have my questions. Any way, I had one more wierd question I guess you could put it... how do you know where to point on the green screen when you are on the air? Thanks again,Amanda Langage-17

Thanks Amanda...sorry if my response to you was somewhat confusing...But in a nutshell, here is my opinion on the issue:Since the beginning of the earth and its atmosphere, there is evidence that the climate (or averaged weather conditions) has always fluctuated over various time periods, both up (warmer conditions) and down (cooler conditions). Currently, it appears we are in a period of slow warming. The question is whether human activities (specifically the burning of fossil fuels, including coal and petroleum products) will lead to a warming that will be irreversible.

Saturday Mechanic: Servicing Brake Discs

If the dime goes in beyond the top of the president's head, the score is too deep. If a score is too thin for the dime to slip in, it's harmless. Another test is to run your fingernail across the surface radially. If your nail catches, the rotor needs to be resurfaced. If not, you're probably okay, provided there's enough thickness left on a true-running rotor.

Uniform thickness is critical. Measure each rotor with an outside micrometer at a number of evenly spaced points around the lining contact surface. A variation of .005 in. or more is enough to cause the pulsation you feel.

Lateral runout is caused by a rotor that's uniform in thickness, but is wavy. Uneven thickness and excessive runout often go together. That is, the runout causes the uneven wear on the rotor.
